The 5 Most Talked About Transfer Rumours So Far This Summer

It’s that time of the year again when everyone is talking about potential transfers that could happen around the globe. The back of the papers are full of rumours of players switching clubs. But some are more prominent than others. These are the transfer rumours you just can’t escape. Are Manchester United linked with everyone?

Honourable Mentions:

Wayne Rooney – To Everton

Virgil Van Dijk – To Liverpool

David De Gea – To Real Madrid

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – To La Galaxy

Naby Keita – To Liverpool

Matteo Darmian – To Juventus

Gianluigi Donnarumma – To Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid

Alexandre Lacazette – To Arsenal

Andrea Belotti – To Chelsea and Manchester United

James Rodriguez – To Manchester United and Chelsea

5. Alvaro Morata – To Manchester United

Only a week or two ago Morata seemed on the verge of joining United. Although it hasn’t happened yet, the Spaniard still seems destined for Old Trafford with reports constantly in circulation. United are expected to pay £60 million for the 24 year old.

4. Alexis Sanchez – To Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus or Bayern Munich

The Chilean striker had a fantastic year for Arsenal and often carried the team, in the absence of others. He scored 30 goals in 51 appearances for the gunners and showed his quality as a number 9. Sanchez only has one year left on his contract and reports are suggesting £60 million will get him. Manchester City are currently leading the chase but other European giants are also interested.

3. Romelu Lukaku – To Chelsea or Manchester United

The need for top quality strikers seems to be a theme this transfer window and Lukaku fits the bill perfectly. The Belgian forward scored 25 goals in the Premier League last season and is now considered one of the leagues best forwards, which means clubs will have to pay a hefty fee of roughly £75 million.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo – To Manchester United

A few weeks ago, news broke that Ronaldo was unhappy at Real Madrid and wanted a return to Manchester United, the place where he transformed into the superstar we know and love today. Recently, the news has slowed down and the Portuguese forwards future seems to be in Madrid but until either Ronaldo or his agent Jorge Mendes put an end to the rumours, his future remains uncertain.

1.Kylian Mbappe – To practically everyone

Monaco’s 18 year old winger/striker is footballs next big thing. That is perhaps why a host of clubs are reportedly after the Frenchman. His break through season saw him net 26 goals. He has also shown his quality in several big games. But there are definitely question marks over his reported world record fee of roughly £120 million, after only one season. But that hasn’t put off potential suitors such as Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
